Slow Ride, Family Ride

Today we had our first Family Ride!  Slow Ride Lancaster is a group that is pretty near and dear to my heart.  We meet the forth Friday of every month and do a leisurely 8-10 miles around the city.  Everyone is welcome, and we get a really diverse group of riders from professionals to young children.  It's a great way to explore the city, meet new people, all while feeling really safe and comfortable riding in traffic.  Over that past few rides we began having noticing a lot of families with young children and we wanted to make a ride that was a great introduction to children that have never ridden on the street before, and the Family Ride was born.  This ride took us from Buchanan Park to Linear Park giving everyone ample time to run around and play on both playgrounds and get in some heavily chaperoned street riding.  Everyone had such a great time, parents, kids, and chaperones!  We hope to make this a regular thing and hope you come out and join us!
